cash loan scam
Odd calls from a confused person who has the wrong number. Future calls will be ignored.
I was told that I was a finalist to win a new SUV that I had submitted an entry into which I had not done.
Allowed call to go to answering machine. US-sounding female voice who stumbled through her message said I was a finalist in "an Event Planners, Washington DC drawing I had entered online". Like Jason I don't enter online drawings. Gave "866-993-2017 x213" as callback # despite what caller ID showed. See this URL also:
which has both these phone #s linked. I thought it was lame she said her name was "Marion" and the caller ID showed "Marion, IL" , -)
Got a call from this number. The voicemail said I'd entered on line and was a finalist for a SUV. Other stuff I read leads me to believe it's a scam.
Nicholas said my name was drawn for an Escalade for a contest that I didn't enter. This was the number on the caller ID but said to call him back at 866-993-2017. I looked up that number and there were numerous other people with the same story. This is a scam.
Received a call from this number about being a finalist in winning a Lincoln Navigator from contest I had entered on line. I called the number back 1 618 997 4103 and phone was answered by a male how said this was "prize center." Asked to speak to original caller cathy o'mally and a lady then spoke to me. Advised that lady that I had read about her calls on "800 Notes" and asked if she was a telemarketer. She answered, well, not exactly." I then asked her to take me off their phone list and not to call again.
call from a cathy o'mally, with prize claim center, re entry form you submitted online for a new suv, call 866-993-2017 ext207
Some one not very nice
Heather called, told me I was a winner in a contest. She never gave the name of the contest. I was guaranteed 1 of 4 prizes (Lincoln Navigator, $25,000, 2 R/T Air fare and 3 nights in Las Vegas or the islands, or a 30" Toshiba Remote TV.
All I have to do is show up at Holiday Inn in Georgetown in Washington,DC. I was given a claim number, and told to bring 2 ID's (Specifically Driver's License and a Credit Card).
Heather never mentioned I'd have to listen to a sales pitch.
Got a call from "Brian" at the Prize Claim Center. He told my wife that she won one of three prizes, either a Lincoln Navigator, $250k, and I forget the third prize. After searching around the Net this looks extremely suspicious, due to the fact that they wanted to verify that we are over 30, make more than $45k, and want us to come to a "meeting" at some hotel in Park City. Here's the reverse phone number lookup info:
Corporation Location: Clinton, IA
Do a search for "Prize Claim Center" at www.ripoffreport.com too, lots of good info.
Just did a search online for the 618-993-2017 on www.whitepages.com. I selected the reverse lookup option at the top. this is the info that came up:
1301 Enterprise Way
Marion, IL 62959-4442
Type: Land Line
Location: Marion, IL
Job title: Owner
Company: Prize Claim Center
Morganwork sounds like a made up name to me, hope this gets the [***] good.
"Rick Falling" called my cell. Left a message that I won a Lincoln Navigator SUV from a contest I entered last year. "In my best interest to call him back at 866-993-2017 ext 206 as soon as possible."
Not falling for it thanks to google and these posts!
I got the same call today, 01212008
Sarah was the caller
I won too!
I listened to his little rant answering any questions with a simple one word answer (sure, yes, no, okay). I won the prize because my email was one of the ones chosen by going to some site called "Explore Dictionary"?? HUH!?
So I am guarenteed to win one of four prizes..a 2008 Lincoln Navigator! A 3 day, 2 night trip to Florida! $2,500 cash! OR (as he said, the very least I can walk away with) a 32" Flat Screen TV!
All I have to do is Go to a 90 Minute "Fun" Meeting being held by Westgate Resorts to "celebrate" their success. When I am there, they will hand me a scratcher style ticket which will have my prize.
Oh yeah, because I have a wife, she has to be there "just in case you win the Navigator so she can sign papers". Oh, yeah and dont forget to bring two forms of ID, one has to be a drivers license, the other a major credit card "you do have a major credit card, right?"
He tried to get me to sign up for the presentation, but I told him I am out of town until after the holidays and he told me to "call him directly because he has the details of my account"
Thanks Ted, I will make sure I call you, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but make sure you are sitting there right by your phone waiting for my call!
I don't enter online contests but listened to the guy's spill. Said I was guaranteed to win 1 of 5 prizes (Escalade being the top prize)...Gave me the address for the 90 minutes hustle at 8911 N. Capital Of Texas HiWay (Austin, TX). Was told I needed 2 forms of ID and must bring my wife. Google "Global Excapes" for more...
return number: 18669932017 x215
Caller: "Janice Smith"
Prize: Cadillac Escalade
I received message that I won a LINCOLN NAVIGATOR from last year online contest, need to call back as soon as possible.
Same as the info above... Call from "Ruth" at Prize Claim Center... Finalist for a 2007 Cadillac Escalade. Funny that the 866# is the same as the phone # that called? Who are these losers???
Got a call saying I won a SUV by some contest. I don't do contests so I immediately became suspicious. Looked up number in Google (best search engine ever) and this popped up. Thanks for the posts. Another crooked scam foiled by the internet!
