SAME here ... sat 11am Brice with the recovery department - blahhh blahhh blahh call 1844-604-0006 YEAH BITE ME
same here, supposedly entered a contest and won 25000 dollars. Never entered any contest.
Just got a call about a contest I supposedly entered a while ago. Scam
Same. BS. claimed to be from some "gift recovery program" Wanted me to dial some 800 number regarding $25,000 prize.
Never buy. anything from a cold call and never any contest. Might be the old "time share" come on. Bitten once many yrs ago. Now listed in my book as least desireable life form in existence.
Got a call from this number told me I had won a prize from an entry from a long time ago, gave me a 1-800 number to call for more information. I knew it was a scam because I haven't entered any contest!!
I have gotten a call from this number two days in a row now and when I answer "Hello," they hang up.
I keep receiving these calls!! When I answer - nothing. Sometimes I hear a partial message. I call back and it rings then it's a busy signal. This is getting very annoying as it occurs at all hours! It's from a Texas area - that's all I know.
Left a message that was cut off in the beginning but apparently I won something. Sure.
they called and hung up, very annoying. I
Call from 512-999-3301 left VM, Told me I did not win the 25,000 but to call 866-826-0283 for other great prizes. He did not tell me where or why I signed up nor details.
So sick of this number calling and then hanging up without saying anything. We are on the do not call list but they don't check before calling. Sad thing about these types of calls you block the number and then they start calling using another number.
Sick, Sick of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have received multiple hang up calls from this number. Appears to be bot caller or auto dialer. Caller ID gives number and just says TEXAS.
Yes, this is my lucky day. Per a voice mail - I don't answer these phony calls - I won $25,000 in a giveaway from "sometime back". Damn.... I can't wait to claim my prize. I suspect all I have to do is call them back at 866-826-0823 and provide them with my social security number, date of birth and a credit card number. Arghhhhhhhhhhh.
Are there stupid people who actually fall for this stuff?
Scum-sucking, bottom-feeder scammers.
I called back and blocked my number by using *67 before dialing 1 and then 866-826-0823. The 866 number was given by a recorded message saying I had won a $25000 prize and needed to make contact.
A guy answered and put me on hold. He never picked up. I finally hung up. Then I Googled and found the incoming number 512-999-3300 is a SCAM and is associated with many different attempts to get people's financial information.
I recently got the idea that when a scammer asks who they are talking with, I respond, "This is the State Attorney General's Office, how can I help you?" They hang up in a micro second. LOL
they had called me 3 to 4 times.
they hang up after I say hello
What I do with all solicitors is store their number in my phone and attach a consecutive number to it. For example... I store them as "Sol1" (short for solicitor) then "Sol2" and so on. I am up to "Sol390" now! It only takes a couple of seconds to store the number but can save minutes of answering the call and/or listening to a VM from them. When one of these "Sol" calls come in I simply answer it and immediately hang up so it can't go to VM. So, instead of being aggravated by these calls, I now feel empowered because I have the upper hand of knowing it is a solicitor in the first place and then I get the satisfaction of being the one who controls the situation by answering and just hanging up on them!
Same as D. Ames. both numbers 512-999-3300 and 512-999-3301 from Austin TX,
512-999-3300, 512-999-3301 Both numbers are from Austin TX, no-one talks, I have texted them back to tell them DO NOT CALL ME---IM SICK OF IT!!!!!
